I wasn’t in love with Shutter Island but I didn’t hate it as much as A.O. Scott did. I went in knowing very little other than what I saw in the commercials. Unfortunately, the little I suspected about the film based on what I had seen was not far from what I saw on screen (I’m trying to be as vague as possible so I don’t spoil). Leonardo DiCaprio delivered a solid performance, although his accent was characteristically suspect.
