A few months ago, I saw Bon Iver perform at the Hollywood Forever cemetery. The event began at midnight with a screening of Wes Anderson’s first film Bottle Rocket and an episode of Planet Earth. At 5am, after a couple of different playlists (chosen by Justin Vernon himself), Buddhist monks blessed the stage and at 6, Bon Iver played as the sun rose. It was incredible. Here’s a track off For Emma, Forever Ago, the debut album and one of my favorite of the year (if not decade).
